Oct 16, 2026, 1:35 PM CT, MCP Inspector (reference client): MCP Inspector v2.11.0 against https://api.githubcopilot.com/mcp/ (Streamable HTTP, protocol 2025-11-25) on a dedicated test account and test repo. OAuth fails (no dynamic client registration), so we connected with a fine-grained personal access token. Works with a token.

Gotchas
- MCP Inspector (reference client): After a failed OAuth attempt, click "Clear stored OAuth state" in the Inspector before switching to a token, or the connection keeps failing.
- MCP Inspector (reference client): OAuth does not work in clients that rely on dynamic client registration. Use a fine-grained personal access token instead, or a client with a pre-registered GitHub OAuth app.
- MCP Inspector (reference client): issue_write is an MCP Apps interactive form. Calling it as a plain tool shows a form and creates nothing, so clients without MCP Apps support cannot create issues this way.
