How to add the LiveKit Docs MCP server to Claude Code

Our hands-on result: Partial 6 of 7 tasks passed, tested Oct 16, 2026 with MCP TypeScript SDK (reference client).

Claude Code setup

claude mcp add --transport http livekit-docs https://docs.livekit.io/mcp
  1. Run the command, then run claude mcp get livekit-docs to confirm it connected.

We ran the hands-on test in a reference client, not in Claude Code. This config follows Claude Code's documented format for remote (Streamable HTTP) servers. If it fails for you, tell us and we will retest.
