How to add the Notion MCP server to Claude Code

Server URL: https://mcp.notion.com/mcp
Sign-in: OAuth. Your client opens a browser window to sign in.
Our hands-on result: Works 6 of 6 tasks passed, tested Oct 16, 2026 with MCP Inspector (reference client).

Claude Code setup

claude mcp add --transport http notion https://mcp.notion.com/mcp
# then run /mcp inside Claude Code and choose Authenticate

1. Run the command, then run claude mcp get notion to confirm it connected.

We ran the hands-on test in a reference client, not in Claude Code. This config follows Claude Code's documented format for remote (Streamable HTTP) servers. If it fails for you, tell us and we will retest.
