How to add the Hugging Face MCP server to Claude Code

Claude Code setup

claude mcp add --transport http huggingface https://huggingface.co/mcp
  1. Run the command, then run claude mcp get huggingface to confirm it connected.

Anonymous use works but warns about rate limits. Add a free Hugging Face token for heavier use.

We ran the hands-on test in a reference client, not in Claude Code. This config follows Claude Code's documented format for remote (Streamable HTTP) servers. If it fails for you, tell us and we will retest.
