MCP Inspector keeps failing after a bad OAuth attempt

Error: Connection keeps failing after switching from OAuth to a token

What causes it

The Inspector caches the failed OAuth state and reuses it, even after you add a token header.

How to fix it

  1. Click "Clear stored OAuth state" in the Inspector before switching to a token.
  2. Then reconnect with the Authorization: Bearer header set.
